The True Value of Cold-Pressed, Unrefined Oils

In the world of conscious eating and modern nutrition, plant-based oils have assumed a new significance. But not all oils are created equal. At Natura Harmony, we produce 100% pure, cold-pressed, unrefined oils — clean, nutrient-rich and eco-friendly. Here’s what makes them special and how they fit into your daily healthy eating habits.
What Are Cold-Pressed, Unrefined Oils?
Let’s start with terminology.
Cold-pressing is a mechanical method of extracting oil from seeds and nuts at low temperatures — typically below 40°C. This process preserves the natural nutrients, flavour and aroma. Unrefined means that the oil is not bleached, deodorised or chemically altered in any way.
Unrefined means nothing is added, removed, or altered after pressing. No bleaching. No deodorising. No additives.
This is exactly how we make oils at Natura Harmony — pure and intact, just as nature intended.
Why temperature control matters:
Heat-sensitive compounds like vitamin E, polyphenols, and essential fatty acids break down quickly under high temperatures. By keeping the process cold and controlled, Natura Harmony ensures these nutrients remain in every bottle.
At Natura Harmony, we utilise controlled cold-pressing to preserve valuable compounds, including vitamin E, polyphenols, and essential fatty acids. No additives. No heat damage. Just nature in a bottle.
Why 100% Unrefined Mono-Oils Matter
Many commercial oils are blends. While that’s not inherently bad, it often obscures the origin and quality of the ingredients. At Natura Harmony, we press one type of seed or nut at a time. No blends, no dilutions. That’s how we guarantee the specific nutritional benefits of each oil — whether it’s Black cumin seed oil, Pumpkin seed oil, or Walnut oil — and give you full traceability and transparency and allowing you to benefit from the specific nutritional profile of each oil.
Oils and Daily Healthy Eating
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the British Nutrition Foundation, and the UK Government’s Eatwell Guide, an average adult requires approximately 2,000–2,500 kcal per day, depending on age, gender, and activity level.
Recommended Daily Nutrient Intake:
- Protein: 50–75 g
- Fat: 70–90 g (should not exceed 30% of total calories)
- Carbohydrates: 260–300 g
As cold-pressed oils are pure fats, just 1 tablespoon (≈15 ml) contains around 120 kcal. That’s why it’s essential to monitor your fat intake — especially if you enjoy adding oil to salads, dressings, or even taking it directly by spoon.
The tablespoon is a universal kitchen measurement that generally falls around 15 millilitres around the world. There can be a small range (usually less than 5ml) between tablespoons in different countries.
Using a standardised tablespoon made of a stable material like stainless steel is recommended for accuracy.
(Need the exact figure? 14.79 ml (14.7868) is the figure for ml in a tablespoon given by the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology – Weights & Measures), which is then rounded to 15 ml for cooking measurements.
General Daily Unrefined Oil Intake Guidance:
- 1 to 2 tablespoons per day (≈13–27 g or 15–30 ml)
- Adjust based on other fat sources in your meals
